The Intrepid Duo is comprised of and founded by Dr. Jeffrey Allardyce and Dr. Laura Grantier at the University of Utah School of Music. The name of the ensemble draws its inspiration from the Intrepid Mountain Biking Trail found in Dead Horse State Park in Southern Utah and draws upon courageous, bold, and dauntless imagery and ideals. The ensemble seeks to push the boundaries and excellence of woodwind chamber music while also keeping a focus on education and outreach to local and regional music communities, especially the underserved.

As a highly-active artistic ensemble, the Intrepid Duo has performed nationally and internationally at conferences including the likes of the North American Saxophone Alliance, Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, and International Clarinet Association. They have also served as guest artists at Michigan State University, Central Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, the University of Montana, and Montana State University.
